At the center of in-house patient care is a unit nurse station complete with work areas, patient monitoring systems, call center, computer networks, supplies and more.  The layout requirements for these nurse stations are as diverse as the types of care they are intended to support.  Careful consideration for functional work zones allow not only adequate space but also a layout that assures a good workflow element by evaluating needed activities, type of personnel, number of people, and to what areas of the nurse station each will need access.
